$ 1,500 TBI eye bank certification testing at one of our specially equipped training facilities for one technician.
$ 5,000 Fellowship Project - Participation by one ophthalmologist in an international training forum where ophthalmologists share knowledge and skill.
$ 2,150 Eye Bank Association of America (EBAA) certification for one TBI technician. Qualifying technicians become Certified Eye Bank Technicians (CEBT).
$ 3,500 American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB) certification for one TBI technician. Qualifying technicians become Certified Tissue Bank Specialists (CTBS).
Tissue Recovery
$ 250 Surgical instrument kit equipped with necessary tools for technicians to remove donated, essential eye tissue to fight blindness.
$ 620 Customized surgical instrument kit used by TBI-trained technicians to perform the delicate corneal tissue recovery procedure.
$ 2,500 Standard surgical instrument kit equipped with necessary tools for technicians to remove doanted, life-renewing bone and connective tissue, skin, heart valves, saphenous veins and other allograft tissue.
Tissue Processing and Transport
$ 60 Protective TBI VisionGraft® packaging and expeditious transport (anywhere in the United States) of one sight-saving cornea.
$ 80 Protective TBI TranZgraft™ packaging and expeditious transport (anywhere in the United States) of tissues which bring health and mobility to those awaiting a second chance for life.
$ 130 Packaging and timely transport of one sight-saving cornea to countries in which corneal blindness is a major health problem.
$ 135 Recovery cost for a sight-restoring cornea which includes the purchase of essential medical supplies and carefully monitored, quality-controlled donor testing.
$ 12,500 Cost to equip a TBI Tissue Bank with an autoclave to sterilize surgical instruments.
$ 15,000 Cost of a specular microscope required in the careful evaluation of corneal tissue for transplantation.
Public Outreach/Education
$ 1,400 Cost to provide each TBI Transplant Bank with 3,000 professional and public outreach newsletters.
$ 1,600 Cost to provide each TBI Transplant Bank with 2,000 annual reports.
$ 2,050 Costs to produce and print/reproduce public service announcements for each TBI Transplant Bank.
