Vice President, Ocular
Operations

TBI/Tissue Banks International is seeking an
experienced, motivated individual to provide oversight and direction
for the TBI network Ocular Operations to ensure a highly coordinated
approach to TBI’s ocular processing, distribution and marketing
functions; providing a high level of service to TBI’s donor recovery
locations and their management to maximize the placement of corneal
and other ocular tissue. This is an Executive Staff level position,
and requires a full commitment to TBI’s mission that guides our work
and will continue to do so.
This position is based either at TBI
Headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland or The National Eye Bank Center
in Memphis, Tennessee.
The Vice President, Ocular Operations is
responsible to provide oversight and direction of the management of
The National Eye Bank Center to support maximizing efficiencies and
maintaining and consistently improving quality for timely evaluation
and release of ocular tissues and specialty tissues; management of
the Tissue Distribution and Information Center efficient placement
of the maximum number of ocular tissue for full fee; and management
of the International Division to ensure achievement of TBI’s
international mission and objectives
Requirements
Candidates require a Bachelors degree or
equivalent education and work experience, M.S. in business or
administration a plus. Experience in sales, marketing, production,
general management or as the head of a department or division and
knowledge of eye or tissue banking preferred. Additional
requirements include expert leadership skills, proven effectiveness
in dealing with people and ability to communicate a sense of
mission; excellent interpersonal communications, public speaking and
writing skills, and the ability to build relationships necessary for
program success; knowledgeable in development of markets and program
efficiencies; demonstrated ability to organize multiple priorities,
meet deadlines and initiate action to correct problems encountered
as well as set goals and implement strategies to ensure achievement;
and the ability to identify trends, develop and implement logistical
strategies, and perform cost/benefit analysis for allocation of
resources.

Assurance Coordinator

Tissue Banks International has
an opening for a Quality Assurance Coordinator to support TBI
network quality assurance with special emphasis on regulatory site
audits and follow up, equipment validations, and development and
implementation of national and local standard operating procedures
(SOPs).
Candidates require a Bachelors
degree in a Life Science or equivalent education and work
experience, with a minimum of 3 years experience in a structured
regulated environment such as biologics, medical devise or
pharmaceuticals preferred. Knowledge of GTP required, cGMP and ISO
Quality Systems a plus. ASQ certified Quality Auditor or Biomedical
Auditor preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills,
attention to detail and ability to coordinate multiple activities
simultaneously required, as well as computer literate. Must be able
to travel in excess of 20% of time.

Program Manager

The Connecticut Eye Bank (CEB)
is seeking a Technical Program Manager to oversee all CEB technical
programs, including, but not limited to, responsibility for the
laboratory, technical staff and donor recovery programs.
Responsibilities:

Manage technical programs and develop new programs and protocols
with prior endorsement and approval of the Director to maximize
technical efficiencies in compliance with TBI SOPs.

Supervise technical staff.

Prepare goals and objectives for the technical department for
routine review by the Director.

Review and provide follow up information on all quality control
incidents related to laboratory function and tissues.

and manage technical department budget.

Assist local and network Quality System representatives with

Qualifications:

and experience.

knowledge of eye and tissue bank programs, purposes, and
functions and ability to communicate a sense of mission and
urgency to technical staff.

Technical certification by EBAA and/or AATB.

Demonstrated
ability to supervise and provide leadership for staff.

Ability to perform and a complete understanding of all duties
and procedures of the technical staff and ability to train new
staff.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Demonstrated ability to organize multiple priorities, meet
deadlines and initiate action to correct problems encountered.

Ability to analyze trends and perform cost/benefit analysis for
efficient allocation of limited resources.

donated tissue for transplant. Full time position also involved in
the evaluation and distribution of donor tissue and associated
responsibilities. Specific duties include:

Recovers or coordinates timely
recovery of donated tissue from all sources following TBI
procedures.

Accept on-call responsibilities
for tissue recovery as scheduled.

Maintain neat and accurate
documentation on all hard copy forms related to the recovery and
processing in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures.

Lab maintenance including
cleaning, instrument sterilization, and logs as required.

donor management systems.

training or research.

involved with daily operations and assists staff when needed.
Addresses logistical issues within the Tissue Suitability department

The Tissue Suitability Manager will develop a team atmosphere that

Responsibilities:

EBAA certification and

Ability to provide leadership and a sense of mission and urgency
for staff.

Proven skills interacting with
people on all levels; demonstrated ability and willingness to
