Supporting Researchers
TBI provides tissue to university programs, independent scientists, and corporations for research when available. Because of our extensive network of eye and tissue banks, we can often meet the needs of researchers who need tissue for scientific studies .TBI’s National Eye Bank Center and National Processing Center have myriad opportunities for the showcasing, demonstration, and testing of new equipment; access to the large volume of donor data for detecting and mapping trends; and the potential for collaborative research in the eye and tissue banking field.
To make a request for research tissue or tissue data, please contact our tissue distribution office or call 800-858-2020.
Improving Eye and Tissue Transplantation
TBI also operates its own research programs at its National Processing Center and National Eye Bank Center. At these centers of excellence, TBI staff and collaborating organizations search for new ways to better meet the needs of our surgeons and patients. Whether it is altering the design of a spine allograft for a more harmonious fit or perfecting a new technique for pre-cutting corneas, TBI’s research programs put us on the cutting edge of eye and tissue banking services.News and Announcements
